- 2/8/2019 - Historic Expansion to Dutchess County Parks System with Proposed Purchase of Lake Walton Property
Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro is proposing the largest expansion to the Dutchess County Parks System in decades with the purchase of Lake Walton and surrounding property in East Fishkill. In a presentation last night, the Dutchess County Legislature’s Capital Projects Committee heard details of the County Executive’s proposal to purchase more than 230 acres of land located adjacent to the William R. Steinhaus Dutchess Rail Trail from Scenic Hudson at a discounted price. The property would be developed into a universally accessible park dedicated to passive recreation, with trails, viewing areas, and water access for individuals of all abilities. Read more...

- 2/11/2019 - PULVER & MOLINARO INTRODUCE REDESIGNED CODE OF ETHICS AND TERM LIMITS
Poughkeepsie, NY – Legislative Chairman Gregg Pulver and Dutchess County Executive Marcus J. Molinaro announce the legislative introduction of a completely redesigned Code of Ethics and term limits for the offices of Legislator, County Executive, and Comptroller. In 2017, the Chairman and Executive formed the Ethics and Independent Reapportionment Advisory Committee with the mandate of producing a more thorough and strict Code of Ethics and Financial Disclosure. - 1/22/2019 - LEGISLATURE CONFIRMS NEW COUNSEL
Poughkeepsie, NY – At its January Board Meeting, the Dutchess County Legislature confirmed Ms. Karen E. Hagstrom as its fifth Legislative Counsel in its 51-year history. Hagstrom is the first woman to occupy the position. Pursuant to the County Charter, the position of Legislative Counsel is appointed by the Chairman and confirmed by the full Legislature. She is filling the unexpired term of Scott L. Volkman who recently became a City of Poughkeepsie Court Judge. Read more...

Poughkeepsie, New York: Dutchess County Clerk Bradford H. Kendall will host a Naturalization Ceremony and administer the Oath of Allegiance to approximately one hundred fifty individuals. The event will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 2 in the afternoon at the Family Partnership Center, 29 North Hamilton Street, Poughkeepsie, New York. The Honorable Maria G. Rosa, New York State Supreme Court Justice will preside over the ceremony. Revered Edward Hunt, Ph. D. of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church will deliver the keynote address. - 1/24/2019 - Sheriff’s Office Divisions to close during move
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office announces that shortly it will be moving into its new facility, and consequently some of its divisions will need to be temporarily closed during the move. The Sheriff’s Office is currently at 150 North Hamilton Street in Poughkeepsie, however it’s scheduled to be moved to 108 Parker Avenue during the third week of February. Read more...

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit is receiving an equipment donation to the K9 Unit. The item has GPS capabilities for further safety of the unit’s canines and is being donated by a young local businessman. Read more...
